AvroKO Completes First Phase of the Scott’s RedesignWill Speros • May 2, 2018
hotel has revealed the first phase of its $15 million refresh from . The Scottsdale, Arizona resort will wrap its second and final redesign phase this summer with the introduction of a new presidential suite and the addition of four one-bedroom suites.
Located in the city’s Old Town, the Mission-style property draws influence from four central pillars—colors distinctive of 1930s Havana, the geometry of the Bauhaus movement, Mission Revival architecture, and the airy minimalism of the Arizona’s desert beauty. AvroKO combined the hotel’s original Sonoran style with a casual but sophisticated ambiance punctuated by vibrant, woven textiles, intimate seating enclaves, and historic family portraiture to establish a sense of place and offset utilitarian fixtures and clean geometric forms. Handcrafted Spanish tiles in the indoor-outdoor lobby complement the building alongside a large central tree and other succulents and indigenous flora.
The cornerstone of the resort, the restaurant, bar, and lounge Canal Club will marry the history of Scottsdale with Havana. Appointed with vintage sofas and pink fringe table lamps, the space serves as a comfortable retreat for the savvy global traveler.
